The Sweetest Man I Know

My grandfather isn't doing so well as of now. On Friday July 20th he was having trouble breathing and asked my dad to take him to the Whidbey General Hospital. It turned out that his left lung was 2/3 full of fluid. He had to stay over 2 nights while they did some tests and drained some (not all) of the fluid. All the information and everything was turned over to the VA in Seattle. He has another appointment on Tuesday, and hopefully we should be finding things out. So far we know that he was exposed to asbestos when he was in the navy over 50 years ago. Asbestos can lead to mesothelioma (there are some commercials on TV talking about this). So, some of my family are very worried and don't expect to have him around much longer, while others aren't making judgements till they know for sure.
So, things are... different around here. I love my Grandpa so much. He is the most amazing man. He is grumpier these days, which can be expected, but I want to remember him as the man who was grumpy and so sweet all at the same time. So, I'm doing what other women do with their children. On the side of my blog you will notice an addition. These are the funny and just plain common things my grandpa says and does. Enjoy. Even though it is probably for more selfish reasons than to bring others laughter/giggles/joy/information-you-didn't-know-about-George F. Marin.
This probably could have been a lot more detailed and emotional, but I'll save that for later... Hopefully, I will have updates tomorrow.
